Art direction, identity creation, concept and illustration / Ana Cuna
SUMMARY
Palencia Sonora is a mid-sized festival with a long history among independent music festivals in Spain. Since we created the new identity in 2018, and it’s an identity that grows year after year, we always seek a conceptual twist in the new interpretation of each edition. In 2025, we sought an image that would work with the style of the lineup. This year, a classic Spanish indie scene dominated, with bands like Viva Suecia, La Casa Azul, Zahara, León Benavente, and bands from a more contemporary alternative scene like Biznaga, Carlos Ares, and Barry B. That’s why I decided to create a simple, retro-inspired layout, where certain elements would take center stage: the keyboard keys, synthesizers, and speakers would be the common thread running through all the frames, along with nature and animals. I also created lettering that would shape both the title and the band names.
